Many a times we follow traditions and make impetuous decisions. All the things have either scientific or spiritual meaning. What you believe in is your call.
Here is some WIKIPEDIA Gyaan for you,
A Bindi (Bindu in Sanskrit) is a red dot worn on the centre of the forehead, It is a bright dot of red colour applied in the centre of the forehead close to the eyebrow worn in the Indian Subcontinent.
Okay, enough of Wikipedia, now moving on to Spiritual and Scientific meaning.
(I am a Reiki Practitioner )
In Reiki, we heal our 7 chakras and one of them is the the Aagya/Ajna Chakra. It is the 6th Chakra which is also know as our third eye and is exactly between our brows. Our Aagya Chakra depicts Mental Organisation, Knowledge, Intuition and Perception. So you already know we have, 7 Chakras or Senses and how important our 6th sense is to us. It is the sense that has our Subconscious Mind and believe it or not, your subconscious mind controls you.
So Bindi is not just a fashion/make up trend. It has a deeper meaning than that, a meaning that controls our existence. We wear a Bindi not to decorate ourselves, but to respect our inner self.
Why do we apply KUMKUM on our Aagya Chakra during a pooja and not anywhere else?
Why do we use the same KUMKUM that we use for God’s Pooja on our forehead?
Now you know the deeper meaning to it?
And thanks to our fashion industry a Simple Red Dot has evolved and now you can wear a bindi in varied shapes, sizes and hues.
So what are you waiting for?
